IDFC FIRST Bank Hiring SDET Job Purpose:
The SDET at IDFC FIRST Bank is responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of digital banking products across web, mobile, and backend systems. You will design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans using both manual and automated approaches.
Your contribution will directly improve the bank’s customer experience, reduce defects, and ensure seamless performance across all digital touchpoints.
Roles & Responsibilities of IDFC FIRST Bank Hiring SDET:
1️⃣ Test Planning & Design
- Create detailed test plans based on functional and technical specifications.
- Develop test cases for web, mobile, API, and database validation.
- Partner with development and product teams to analyze requirements.
2️⃣ Automation Testing
- Build, execute, and maintain automation scripts using tools like Selenium, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, etc.
- Analyze automation results and optimize coverage.
- Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
3️⃣ Manual Testing
- Perform manual functional, regression, usability, and integration testing.
- Document and log defects with clarity and reproduce scenarios effectively.
- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover hidden issues.
4️⃣ Web, Mobile & API Testing
- Perform testing across different browsers, devices, and platforms.
- Validate API endpoints, performance, integration, and error handling.
- Ensure smooth user experience on both mobile and web applications.
5️⃣ CI/CD Integration
- Design and optimize CI pipelines for automated test execution.
- Integrate automation scripts into CI tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.
- Improve build quality, pipeline speed, and test reliability.
6️⃣ Database Testing
- Write SQL queries to validate data integrity in backend systems.
- Ensure data consistency, migration accuracy, and transformation correctness.
- Identify performance and query optimization opportunities.
7️⃣ Collaboration & Agile Participation
- Work closely with developers, QA, product managers, and business teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies—planning, grooming, daily standups, retros.
- Contribute insights on quality risks, testability, and best practices.
8️⃣ Documentation
- Maintain detailed test cases, execution reports, automation logs, and defect reports.
- Continuously update documentation as the product evolves.

In this SDET role, you will get hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Selenium, Appium, Jenkins, GitLab CI, TestNG, JUnit, Postman, SQL databases, BrowserStack, and various in-house automation utilities.
