About the SDET Job In Bengaluru Role:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Apple IS&T, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, performance, and security of critical customer-facing applications. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional engineering teams to design and implement robust testing strategies that scale with Apple’s rapidly evolving products.

This role blends hands-on test automation, deep technical analysis, and quality engineering leadership. You will help define test strategies, build automation frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines, and champion quality across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Of SDET Job In Bengaluru:

In this role, you will:

• Own and drive the quality of Apple’s customer-facing applications, ensuring consistent functionality, performance, and stability.
• Understand new and existing feature implementations to design robust and informed test strategies.
• Author, review, and maintain test plans, scenarios, and automation scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, performance, security, and resilience testing using modern automation tools.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web, API, mobile, and native applications.
• Identify, report, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and first-level root cause analysis.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, QA teams, and engineering program teams.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
• Analyze test results, metrics, and trends to continuously improve testing effectiveness and reliability.
• Champion quality beyond test execution by influencing design decisions and best practices.
• Continuously enhance automation frameworks and adopt new tools and technologies to improve efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications Of SDET Job In Bengaluru:

To be successful in this SDET role, you should have:

• 4 to 8 years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• At least 2 years of hands-on automation experience using Java, Python, Swift, or another object-oriented programming language.
• Experience testing APIs, web services, web applications, or Mac/iOS/iPadOS native applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as:
  • Core Java
  • Karate
  • RestAssured
  • Playwright or Selenium
  • Appium or XCUI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications For SDET Job In Bengaluru:

Candidates with the following skills will have an advantage:

• Strong understanding of automation framework architecture, design, and development.
• Expertise in quality engineering processes, tools, and metrics.
• Experience with Maven or Gradle and version control using Git.
• Hands-on experience working in Agile development environments with a strong quality mindset.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build tools, deployment processes, and code quality tools.
• Ability to analyze application and system logs to identify errors and root causes.
• Experience testing microservices and cloud-based applications.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Exposure to performance, load, and resiliency testing using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
• Experience or exposure to AI/ML application testing, security testing, and accessibility testing.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP and containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Experience with ServiceNow is a plus.
• Curiosity and a strong desire to learn and explore new technologies.
